Healthy, is as healthy does

Ever wonder why the French drink so much wine. Well it’s a poplar drink, its romantic, and it gets you intoxicated. But the grapes that are in the wine is the key ingredient, its almost like taking a supplement called Resveratrol.

Yes leave it to the French to have the best cuisine in the world, with the highest cholesterol in it, and still have a good statistic for low heart disease. Theory has it that it’s the grapes. The same thing only in a different form, that is in Resveratrol Supplements.

You can have the same healthy life with less chance of heart disease, except you don’t have to drink wine everyday. Just take a supplement that has all the antioxidants you need to give you a healthy liver, heart, and your blood vessels. Exercise always helps, but a good dose of the right supplement will only enhance your chances for a healthy life. Remember, healthy is, as healthy does.

Tired and sleepy…..

Just did a 17 hour shift, and I am really tired, thought I would send out a blog to let every one know that I will be 22 soon. No big plans for anything just kick it at home and act like it’s another day. It’s good and bad to have a birthday so close to Christmas, you know.
Kind of looking forward to the New Year. Me and some of my friends are going to Las Vegas. We are talking about January. I have some deals that would give us the airfare, plus 3 nights at the MGM. One of our friends says she might not be able to afford the trip.
I told her she can stay with one of us in the room, and she wouldn’t need that much money to spend there. I really want her to go; she is cool to hang out with. Anyway, need to get some rest so I can get back up and go to work again.

It’s not just advertising on the net

Well over half of America and the civilized world work, buy, and sell, from the internet. So who’s buying, selling and working from the internet? Everyone that feels competitive, and has that drive to meet the challenge of big money.
It’s all about one thing; don’t matter if you’re working in an office, at home or off your mobile phone somewhere. Advertisement is a must and it has to be superior to anyone else, it helps if you have a good product or service. Insuring that you’re advertising is accurately listed on the internet or mobile is most important.
A search engine should take you directly to the service or product you’re looking for. If it doesn’t, it wasted your time. Someone out there that paid to have there product or service advertised online also wasted their money. They paid for their advertisement and it didn’t target the correct customer. So it’s not just advertising on the net, it’s how you do it. It must be done accurately, and geared towards the right customer!

Hey what’s up with the Broncos?

It is finally happening, the dink and dunk passes, are not going to work. The first 6 games teams didn’t know what to expect with the Broncos. A new coach, several free agents, a new defensive coordinator. But it caught up with them. First a blow out in Baltimore, then a beat down at home on Monday night by Pittsburgh, and then San Diego comes in here and just opens a can of whop ass on them.

It going to get worse, they have the New York football Giants tomorrow on Thanksgiving. I would think the running game for the Giants will be enough offense to cruise them to an easy win. The Broncos offense is just terrible and is not going to get well any time soon. In fact, start looking at the off season, for some trades and the draft. We really need a quarterback.

Orton at quarterback is not the answer; his longest completion is 27 yards this year. Has anyone seen the backup? His name is Chris Simms, oh brother…….. I watched him play at Texas, enough said. Anyway, it going to get a lot worse.

Clothes, pants, boots and things

If there is one thing a woman always has over a man is clothes. I don’t think there is a woman in the world that doesn’t think about buying a new pair pants, shoes, boots, or some type of clothing every couple of weeks.

Its winter and Christmas is in site. For the last two years my husband has bought me winter boots. Last year they were brown ones, and in 07 they were black ones. I need a pair of white ones, hint, hint.

It seems like a man buys a pair of shoes every 2 years. My husband has several pairs of shoes, but it seems like he hasn’t bought a pair of dress shoes for over 3 years. Tennis shoes or walking shoes, he buys them every 6 months. Then he says, “Well I used to buy clothes, shoes and suits all the time when I was single”. It’s probably true, he had more clothes, pants, boots and things than I could imagine. He took up the whole closet in our bedroom. He only has half the closet now!

University of Colorado Buffaloes

I’m sitting here wondering how long the madness will go on in Boulder, Colorado. The “Buffs” play tomorrow night on ESPN, against Oklahoma State. I’ve watched almost every game this year that they have played, and they are awful.

If I could compare them to an NFL team I would say the are like the Cleveland Browns, or the Oakland Raiders. I don’t know how much money it will take to buy out Dan Hawkins contract, but they need to do it NOW. With all that said, I will watch the game, maybe.

Hey on the bright side I just got me an Infiniti G35X. Really a nice car, the exterior is black with cream color interior. I love the way it handles the road, nothing but class. The power is there if you need it, she can get up and go.

I picked the G35X for the all wheel drive. The G35 is a rear wheel drive, and not really practical in the snow. Anyway I love the car and can’t wait to take a nice long road trip with her. I’ll put some pictures of her on here later.

Using water everyday

Where I live there are signs all over reminding us to use only the water we need. We had a drought here about 5 years ago. It was really bad, we couldn’t water the grass, we had to learn how to save water. Now you only get water in a restaurant if you request it. Those days of getting a glass of water with your menu are over. It makes you think, how much water do you use in a day?

Ever wonder where the water you use comes from? Do wish you could save water? Some of us live where the rainfall dictates how much water we will have during the year. Some of us live where the snow fall when it melts will give us water. Some of us live where we get water from another state, from a river that flows to us.

In this day and age we all need to do what we can to conserve water. A new way to start is getting a dual flush toilet. This design will help you save anywhere from 15 to 20 thousand gallons a year. That’s a lot of water. A dual flush conversion kit is easy to install, and you can keep you same toilet!

Easy is with your eyes and finger tips

I’ve tinkered around with all kinds of instruments. Yes I have done the guitar thing, and its fun, along with the drums. I attempted to play the harmonica, and that’s been sitting on a shelf for a while.

The one instrument that always calls me back is the piano with sight reading music. I don’t have a piano per say, but a keyboard, hey I’m a bachelor with limited funds. No matter what the mood, I always play my piano to give me comfort and joy. I discovered a site that lets you learn to play piano while you watch a video. At first I thought this is bunk, but try it and see!

You just follow along with the video, and soon you are playing. It helps if you have played piano before. But even if you have never play any notes on the piano, it will come easy. Soon you will be playing just like I am typing this blog. You don’t need to peck at the keys, just follow along and bam, your playing. How does that one guy say it “Try it, I guarantee your gonna like it”

Russell gets clobbered

You all saw it; the worse team in the NFL gets clobbered on their home field, by the Denver Broncos. It’s hard to pick which team is worse between the Cleveland Browns, and the Oakland Raiders. I’m going with the Raiders. How bad is this team? There is not a word in the dictionary that describes them, just awful.
Gee the quarterback was 12 of 21 for 61 yards with 2 interceptions for the game. This QB is the, well if I had to describe how he looks out there, a huge rhinoceros trying to throw a football. This has to be one of the biggest busts in a long time. Ryan Leaf comes to mind. Russell was a first round draft pick, and a high one at that.
The Raiders’ will always be losers until Al Davis lets other knowledgeable personal manage the team. No my team isn’t the Denver Broncos; I like any team that is smart, and makes good sound decisions.
For the last few years I have liked and follow the New England Patriots. They just win, and win, and win. New offensive coordinator, no problem. New defensive coordinator, no problem. Half of the offense gets hurt, and no problem. That team is 2-3 deep on every position. Loose their all pro, super bowl quarter back, no problem; they go 11-5, with a back up that never played a professional game in his life. They started 3 rookies on the offensive line, and the quarterback sets a team record for passing that year! I could go on, and on, they just win, and are a smart organization. Later all you Raider haters.

Playing my piano at home

All my friends have had the chance to play the guitar on the new game that’s out. That’s a lot of fun; I’ve done it a hundred times. But it’s not like really learning to play the instrument. There is opportunity for everyone to learn to play the piano at home, almost the same way as that guitar game.

I stumbled on to this late one night when I was looking at how to play the piano. I have an electric keyboard that I like to mess around on. Well anyway it’s really easy to learn to play the piano with out the music sheets, just a DVD.

I looked at some of the samples on the video and started following along with the instructor. Before long I was playing the Piano Chords with the song on the video, it was really simple. I am still amazed at how easy it is. It makes all the difference in the world when you are actually using your fingers on the keyboard correctly. I would sit there a peck at the keys on the piano, now it’s like I am typing on my computer keyboard. I enjoy the easy way it is to learn playing my piano at home.

CU vs Wyoming

Last weekend went to watch the college football CU vs Wyoming at Folsom Field in Boulder.Colorado won the game, but it was boring. It dont seem like they have any type of offense. And quarterback is really small and playing way over his head. To small for Big 12 football. It was a final of 24-0, but still the offense is so vanilla, and has no team speed. Really need a quarterback, anyway I have season tickets, so Go Buffs!

Playing Piano Chords with Sheet Music

I've recently found interest in learning to play a musical instrument and the piano always appealed to me. So I bought a small keyboard and decided I would try to learn a few songs by myself to see if it was something for me. Finding lessons and sheet music with piano chords seemed quite expensive for such a beginner, but that's when I found a site with free sheet music.
They had various different styles of music such as Celtic, Arabian Nights, Seashore Sounds, and many more. Another great thing I found was they have some tips and lessons on how to Read Music. This was helpful because if I didn’t have the piano chords, I didn't really know what I was looking at on the free sheet music. When choosing a music sheet, they not only have the sheet music with the notes, but also have an audio file that you can listen to of what the song is supposed to sound like.
This is great as you can confirm that you are actually playing the right piano chords rather than spending lots of time playing it incorrectly. So if anyone is looking to learn some basic piano songs or find some free sheet music to expand their music genre, be sure to check out this site with free lessons and sheet music.

Ameristar Start

I finished all my paperwork for Ameristar and I start tomorrow morning. This week will be training/orientation week and I have to be there 7am-330pm monday and tuesday, 9am-5pm wednesday, thursday, and friday. I guess I wont be able to make it to league anytime this week but oh well, it's just league and I gotta make the money somehow. I'm also getting the employee pricing for the casino bus for pretty much $4 round trip. What a deal! compared to $20 originally. I figured that would be around what I would be paying for gas if not more had I been driving everyday.

25th Wedding Anniversary and Weddings

I am sitting here wondering how my mom goes to all these functions. It’s not like normal. Okay let me explain, last week she was in a wedding, this week she went to a 25th wedding anniversary, next week she is going to another wedding, and the week after she is going to another wedding!

I’m like mom what’s with the weddings? She says their all friends and relatives. You know what is so cool she says is the cakes, the brides dress, her hair made up, looks so pretty, and even her bridal shoes. Everything just looks special at wedding.

I’m like mom bridal shoes? She says oh ya, everything has to fall into place and the shoes are sometimes what bring’s the whole dress together. When does anyone see the shoes mom? Well that’s a good question, but everyone has their eyes on the bride when the groom takes off her garter, and that when everyone in the whole place sees the brides shoes.

Interview & Top bowling game

So I got up today and Tonja and told me about a job posting on craigslist that was customer service and assembly and said I should check it out. Apparently they were doing interviews today and tomorrow but I had planned on getting some stuff from Amy's around noon but I called anyway. The receptionist took down my name and said to come in at 11:30 so it worked out fairly well. I got there and 4 other people had an interview around the same time or something. After the first 2 went in, it was my turn and I talked to the interviewer for about 10 minutes about the job and things like that. It seemed like I was a good fit for the job according to him but we'll see if I get a call back this week sometime. Other than that I went to league but they did a bowling thing so it wasn't much and me and Kevin decided to hang out and kill time until the bowlapalooza. We ended up doing really good tonight for some reason, I guess it must be because we've been bowling about every week and getting better. My top scores were 166, 177, and 213......213! yea pro status...haha not really but exciting still. Well thats it for now.

Goin to Worlds!

So after about 2 weeks of contemplating going and letting prices go up, I finally did all the math and whatnot and came to the conclusion I'm able to go to worlds! I have to sell a few cards and collect some money that people owe me, but I'll be able to afford going. Planning on flying out and probably driving back depending on how much I make at work between now and then. If I have some extra money it might be better to fly back rather than suffer the 16 hour drive, on the plus side, they might stay a night in vegas :D. Anyway, it'll be Me, Adrian, Ian, Bret, and Daniel going since others have either work stuff or money issues. Hopefully all goes well at the grinders, I'm going up to the springs saturday afternoon to do some playtesting and get together with the springs peeps.

CtoC 1

Today was the start of the Colorado Tournament of Champions and it was held at Val Hallas. The format was Modified, Mutant decks. We figured everyone would be playing either psychic or fighting mainly because the draw power of Uxie and Claydol. Got there fairly early and waiting for people to show up...I guess no one had interest in it as there were only about 10 people total that showed up. Anyway I decided to play shuppet and it was amusing. Round 1 I played Ann and she was playing colorless with porygon and garchomp. I kept the shuppet going and was able to win. Round 2 I played Jaime....this game was too funny....I had to go first of the game and started with Crobat G and Unown Q, I passed. He goes, plays speed stadium and cyrus for a roseannes, then used Zangoose's attack to bring up my unown q. My turn.....well lets say all he was doing for about 5 minutes was cutting my deck haha. I went through all but 13 cards in my deck on that lone turn and K.O. his zangoose...he was mad lol. Round 3 I played roberto....Had the worst start ever, and he got a gengar donk lol. Oh well we both got our invites to the final tournament and I got the blue/gold dice. All is well.

Nationals 2009

Well it was the big day, and I was pretty excited for it as we were all playing Palkia Lock. When it was getting started I was nervous as hell and I went to sit across from my first opponent and he didn't seem like he was that competitive from a little chat with him. However, when it was all started and rolling, I had probably the worst game of my life w/ palkia and he ended up winning. I was quite upset. Round 2 I sat across from a nice girl from Kentucky and we talked for a little before the start, ends up my deck made up for the first game as I donked her lone Horsea. Round 3 I played against another person from Kentucky, except this player was running Luxray GL w/ sunnyshore. He was able to get the stadium out within the first 5 turns rendering my croak useless. I started making a comeback when I k.o. his luxray X and benched luxray, however about a minute later time was called and I couldn't get a K.O. to tie prizes. 1-2 At this point I need a huge turn around or else I'm done for. Round 4 played what seemed like he was only there because of family or something as he was running Mightyena Toxitank. I played smart and was able to win fairly easy. 2-2. Round 5 I'm playing yet another Kentucky player lol, he was running flygon but I power locked so bad that he wasn't able to do anything and I won easily. 3-2. Round 6, playing a guy with flygon again, and the same story, power lock from the start where he couldn't do anything and I won. 4-2. Round 7 I'm playing a guy with Legos and he had a really good start, I was able to put up a fight between Palkia and Raichu but in the end I couldn't pull it off. 4-3 Round 8 playing a guy with Machamp. I played the match flawlessly as a lot of people were watching behind me, the only prizes he took were because I sacrificed them. 5-3. As the standings went up I didn't really get up to look because I knew I didn't make it, and I didn't lol. What a terrible day. On the other hand, all of Colorado did excellent as Daniel and Ian went Undefeated in both flights. Ian, Bret, Adrian, Daniel, Ryan, Kevin all made top cut. I guess I'll just have to hope for the best at the grinders...if it's even worth it.

Professor Cup '09

Today was the 2009 Professor Cup and I was able to participate in it because I earned enough points throughout the year. I had to wait about 20 minutes in line to register for it and then waited another 20-30 mins for it to start up. On the other side of the room they had a huge modified tournament going on. We all sat down and was handed our 8 packs, then they handed out a pack of sleeves for the professors only. These sleeves are awesome, they're black with a white professor symbol on them. We proceeded to open our packs and do the draft. I had the worst luck ever drafting or the other guy had the best luck ever. Not only was he able to get usable cards for the tourney, he also was able to get the "good" cards like luxray GL and a full flygon line including the Lv. X. I was pretty upset as I had to resort to an Infernape 4/Leafeon Glaceon deck. I lost the first, won the second, lost the third, and decided to drop. I should have planned better for the cup by reading up on all the available cards in the set and several different strategies. Oh well, theres always next year hopefully

Ft. Collins BR

We drove like an hour out to go to the FT. Collins Battle Roads and more players showed up than we expected, mainly the competitive ones that we usually see. I didn't know if I was judging or playing but I brought my Deck/List just in case. I was anxious to try my new GardeGar deck as it had been doing really good during playtest. Ends up I was playing and 1st round the CPU gave me a bye....I was pissed cuz that meant I most likely had to go undefeated the rest of the tourney to get into top 4 finals. I played Chris 2nd round and it looked like he was going to win as he took 5 quick prizes, then I stopped putting down pokemon and just had my Mewtwo X out, he had no counter so it was pretty much game over. 2-0. Next played Ryan w/ his Flygon/Machamp, he had a decent start but couldn't draw into a supporter to help him out, I ended up winning. 3-0. Next played James w/ his Palkia/Gengar, it was a close match but I feel like I would have won had both my Gastly's not been prized. 3-1. Last played Daniel w/ Palkia, his only counter for mewtwo was Dialga which was way too slow for a 2-2 mewtwo and I ended up winning 4-1. Ends up me AND Kevin made top cut but unfortunatley had to play each other. Top cut against Kevin the Mime really jacked him up as I used it to stall a little bit then K.O. things w/ garde and gengar. Finals against James, same deck that I should have beat and I did...twice, mewtwo kinda messed up his palkia and i used my own gengar to get by his. He misplayed at the end of the 2nd game when he attached to his benched gastly instead of gengar to poltergiest. 6-1 and another Victory Medal, yay I kept my streak going of winning a BR for each season lol.

Shopwiki.com Team Sports

Team sports is one of the most popular activities for people of all ages. It seems that just about everyone that plays sports participates in more than one and sometimes all of them! For someone like me that plays in multiple sports, I need quite the selection of equipment and I would rather spend my time playing than searching all over at stores and websites for the correct items and good prices along with it. Buying all that gear can get pretty expensive so I'm always looking to get the best deal and save money. I've recently run into Shop Wiki when I was looking for the Nike 4005 Official Size Basketball, and not only did I find it in their items, but they also had over 10 stores/websites that had the ball for sale and their prices all on 1 page; that is very helpful as I don't have to use search engines and go to many different sites only to be let down and have wasted time. I know now that when I need any new equipment for sports that I play, shop wiki will be my first stop and probably my only stop. Whether your looking for Football, Soccer, or even Cheerleading, you name it they have just about every sport that you would need and sites for great deals. Next time you are looking to purchase new team sports items, check out Shop Wiki, you won't be disappointed.

Battle Roads Wheat Ridge

Today was the 3rd BR and I was judging again hoping to get more cards for our nationals deck. I got there late because Roberto got in an accident and I had to ask kevin to pick me up lol...He was playing Arcanine and Roberto was playing Luxrape. It was a fairly good day until the finals, Seniors wasn't bad as Abernathy couldn't draw into anything and Makayla had Champ T2 both games and won. Masters was Roberto v. Bret Alex v. Ryan, Roberto's match was pretty slow and tiresome lol but Bret ended up winning that and Ryan came back to beat Alex. Ryan/Bret's matches were long and boring for the most part and I was suprised no one fell asleep lol. Bret ended up winning in the SD game. Afterwards me and Roberto went and got a Croak promo and got some dinner at Chipotle and hung out for a while. The judge support was really good, in my half I pulled 2x Gallades, 1x Luxray, Flygon X, Fan Rotom, bunch of trainers and other stuff.

CO Springs Battle Roads

Today was the 1st Spring Battle Roads in Colorado Springs, and I went with Kevin and Roberto. We arrived fairly early before most people got there and had our deck lists filled out. Kevin played Amphytric, Roberto played Palkia G, and I played Flygon. It was a good turnout and there was 6 rounds of swiss then a top 4 cut. I started the day off against Paul and he was playing Flygon/Weavile and I was pretty confident in my Flygon. After a long match that went to time, I ended up winning as I K.O.'d his Flygon X. My second match I played against T-Tar and Scott had a misplay as he could have won the game on the 1st turn, he didn't and I got setup and ended up winning. 3rd game was against kevin, it was funny that we had to play each other and of course my deck had a god setup to his jank setup when I really didn't want it to lol, so I won that round 3-0 woo I'm feeling pretty good until the day went south. Next played against Dialga and he got some crobats to K.O. my trapinch then I couldn't draw into anything after he PS my claydol. 3-1. Next played against steve with Flygon/Hippowdon, man was he playing so slow.....I guess I was just too upset with the speed of the game that I wasn't really paying attention and I lost that too. 3-2. Last game played against alex w/ t-tar and I was sure that I was going to win w/ the setup I had except when I went to search for cards only to find out 2x Flygon, Flygon X, snover, and 2 warps were prized....I scooped 3-3 oh well, atleast it was only BR. I think Steve ended up winning the whole thing.

Basketball Round 2

The nuggets played their 1st game of round 2 against the Dallas Mavericks and all the commentators were talking about how the series will go to 7 games, some even saying Dallas will win. Well apparently the nuggets never saw any of that because the game was kinda close the whole game until the start of the 4th quarter when they just pulled away hitting shots and playing good defense. They ended up winning by 14. The heat played earlier too for their game 7 but lost to the hawks, it's too bad D-Wade doesn't have anyone on his team that's any good, atleast they made the playoffs and took it to 7 games, hopefully he'll get a good teammate(s) in the off season.

Val Halls fun tournament

Well Ron scheduled a fun unlimited tournament for league today and me and Kevin have been messing around with some deck ideas. Since it was unlimited I was thinking about abusing DRE's with some of the newer cards but those decks didn't end up working so well. I made a Dialga with Weavile/Crobats and later on ended up putting a 2-1 Palkia G which worked a lot better than having Honchkrows and junk. Either way I didn't do too good lol, 1st round got donked by machamp, won 2nd round, 3rd round lost to machamp, 4th round won lol so 2-2 meh oh well. Kevin played some funny Magma's Houndoom lol. It only had 5 pokemon in it, he went 3-1 almost lost to a special guy.

Nuggets Game 3/Rockies

Well I missed the game today because I didn't know it was on so early. I was wondering why it wasn't on any of the big networks in HD. Anyway I read the report and box score on the game, apparently we played good enough and Melo missed a shot in the last couple seconds that would have given them the lead. Atleast we didn't lose by a lot since it was on the road, hopefully we can get back to solid play and win on monday, don't want to let them back in the series. Also the rockies played, they are looking pretty bad and sometimes makes you sick lol, I don't think I like that new pitcher Huston Street.....he always seems to let them score.

RR Decks

So last night I photoshopped and printed some of the Rising Rivals cards that are coming out in may. Put together some decks and they are pretty rockin. I built a Flygon deck with some other stuff in the deck and it's pretty amazing lol discarding cards like crazy while doing some pretty good damage is awesome. I also built Gallade 4 with Palkia G, it's a pretty fast spread that can stop powers and attack quick but it is a spread deck so you'd have to drag on the game for a while.

Nuggets Game 2

Nuggets won tonight by a lot again, and Billups led the way. It was a pretty fun game to watch after the 1st quarter when the nuggets started pulling away and hitting all their shots. Melo and J.R. played great as well along with Chauncey. It looks like the hornets aren't really a match for the nuggets. Well see game 3 when they play in New Orleans. Also today was a sad day, we found out Amy's grandpa has passed away earlier in the night. Her family was really close with him and he was 97. R.I.P

Nuggets Win Game 1

Last night was the 2nd night of the 2009 NBA playoffs, and the start for the Nuggets. They hosted the New Orleans Hornets for Games 1 & 2. Sunday night was game 1 and they played very good showing the rest of the NBA they are legit. Chauncey Billups or course led the way not only as the team's leader and most experienced in the playoffs, but put on a show scoring 36 points and went crazy from the 3-point line hitting 8/9 shots. He was really in the zone and hopefully he can keep that up throughout the playoffs because J.R. Smith and Melo had an off night. Can you imagine if all 3 had solid nights? Game 2 in wednesday night, GO Nuggets!

Drive Home from Utah

Well we thought it was going to be smooth sailing on the way back from Utah since most of the snow was supposedly melted but it seems other plans were in store for us. The start of the morning went as planned, left around 9:30 am then about 2 hours into the drive, Tonja called us and said their truck was messed up and asked if we could stop and help them out around 2 exits away from us. It ends up the belt wasn't on right and ace helped put it back on correctly, so we thought it was done. About 30 mins later, they called back and said the belt completely came off and we stopped at a truck stop to fix it. After about an hour of tinkering with it, we put on a new belt and took it to Auto Zone and had a guy help us out. After another 2-3 hours there it finially got done and we took off, the plan was to go to Hooters but we were so tired and it was getting late and we just wanted to get home, so we did around 9:30. What a crap trip lol.

Pokemon '09 Regionals in Utah

Me and some friends drove from Denver to Utah for the 2009 Regionals tournament on friday morning. It was hell because we woke up only to see the route we were going to take was closed due to snow. After about an hour delay we decided to take I-70 west and just go slow and hoped for the best. We almost got stuck a couple times because of people in front of us just stopped for whatever reason but we managed and after the Eisenhower tunnel, it was smooth sailing and the snow was a thing of the past. The tournament was saturday morning and the staff pulled some strings to make it a top 16 finals which was awesome. I was kinda nervous because I feel like I had to do quite well coming off the States win in New Mexico. My first match was how I wish my whole day went, I sat down and won in 2 turns, it was pretty cool finishing so easily and fast, however the rest of the day went bad. The 2nd game I played a friend and ended up misplaying a couple times which I feel cost me the game, 3rd game I played this guy no one likes and he got a god set-up to my junk set-up, 1-2. At this point I'm frustrated and mad because I need a flawless rest of the day and some help to make top cut. 4th game I play a friend Mike from frisco, he's always a nice guy but can never seem to win against me, I thought the way the day was going it was today but it wasn't 2-2. 5th game I won in 3 turns 3-2, so I need to win and hope for some help. 6th game, I play this girl running a deck I should run over easily HOWEVER, she gets a god set-up and ends up winning, 3-3 how gay. I lost like 50 points overall so that didnt help, ace, jery, and kevin all made top cut. Ace and Jery had to play each other so that sucked, then Kevin and Ace made top 8 but lost. Oh well, hopefully Nationals will go well.

New Regionals Deck

So we came up with an idea for a new deck on the way home from the springs yesterday and kinda playtested it today. Well it turns out to be pretty amazing as it has a solid matchup against pretty much every deck in the format right now. We'll have to do some more playtesting to make sure but if so, it's just a matter of getting the cards needed for all of us. Anyway I'm pretty excited because we should do well with this at regionals which is this saturday.

Opening Week/New Cards

So this week was opening week for the 2009 MLB season. It didn't seem that great for the Colorado Rockies since they lost some key players but after their first 3 games, which they are 2-1 now, they seem headed for a pretty solid season if they keep it up. Tulowitzki is on his way to a great season and Helton is healthy enough to play regularly which is great. They have to play some tough teams the rest of april so hopefully they come out of it good. The nuggets won again and look like they are going to lock in the 2nd seed in the west. Hopefully they can play good enough where we can make a decent run into the playoffs rather than losing in the first round again, hey atleast we won't have to play Kobe the first round :). I also went to wal mart and got some of the newly release Pokemon Platinum 3-packs since everyone is looking for the promo cards that come with it, I managed to pull 3 Lv. X's that I can trade or sell so thats cool. I got a couple sets of the Gliscor/Porygon Z promo's to trade off, geez Regionals is next weekend ahhhhh!

Eye Doctor

So I had an appointment with the eye doctor today at Kaiser and I haven't been since like 2001 or something. Well crazy as it sounds, they said my eye sight pretty much hasn't changed since and I don't really need new glasses unless I want some. Pretty crazy right? 8 years and no change in eye sight haha.

Springs/League Leader

Me and Ace drove up to Colorado Springs for league today to play with some of the more competitive and better players up there. It's cool to go up there except the fact that its a 1 1/2 hour drive each way. They usually have a $5 fee for league play but Dwayne (store owner) waived it this week so that was cool. We played some games and got some interesting ideas for new deck builds, afterwards I met up with Amy at the Park Meadows mall before she went to work. Wayne had also asked me earlier this week about becoming a league leader and I got the request form and acceptance so I'm now a league leader at the Westminster league on mondays! Now I'll be able to earn enough Professor points to compete in the Professor Cup Tournament at Nationals Event in June. Well time to start getting ready for regionals as it's only a few weeks away.

'09 New Mexico States

This past weekend I traveled to New Mexico with a couple friends for the 2009 New Mexico State Championships for Pokemon Trading Card Game. The weekend before that Colorado held theirs, but I chose not to participate as I was well behind in the rankings and felt like it would be a waste. We left denver around 11pm on friday night and arrived in New Mexico around 6:30 am. We got some breakfast from McDonalds and proceeded to the convention center where the tournament was being held to sign in. There was 69 players in the my age group having 7 rounds and then playoffs. I won the first 4 games then lost to a fellow friend/colorado player. I won the next 2 and ended up 6-1 after swiss. I won the 4 matches played in playoffs as the tournament lasted all day & night and I kept going and going all the way to 1st place! My record at the end was 10 wins 1 loss, for winning I got a 1st place trophy, a box of Pokemon Platinum cards, a playmat, and a $300 travel allowance which they will give me at Nationals. This was really exciting because I had no intention of getting even close to the top, and with those wins I bolted up to 2nd in Colorado, and top 50 in North America. We're guessing top 35-40 in North America will get invites, and I'll have to do good at regionals in April to get a chance of an invite to Worlds.

Anniversary

Well saturday is me and amy's 5th anniversary but I'm gonna be in New Mexico for states. I probably shouldn't go since I really don't have a reason to but I dunno, hopefully I do good and get a trophy maybe to make up for it a little bit haha.

Nuggets v. Hawks 2/25

Amy got us tickets to the Denver Nuggets v.s. Atlanta Hawks game last night, she got them at a discount rate since a lot of people from her job were going as a group. We went with about 15 people from her job and had about 3 rows for ourselves in the corner section by the baskets (section 118). It was pretty fun except for sitting at Duffy's for like an hour doing nothing. The game was pretty exciting with some amusing moments, Atlanta kept it close the whole game and even got a last second shot to try to win the game, but Joe Johnson missed the shot off the front of the rim and the nuggets took the win. We also ran into a drunk idiot in the parking lot asking people stupid questions, then they acted like they wanted to fight haha good times.

'09 NBA All Star Game

Last night I watched the 2009 NBA All Star Game with Amy. It was pretty amusing, I've always like the all star game because it's fun to watch all the top players interacting and having fun with each other. The best part was listening to the sound clips they put up during the game of Dwight Howard, and the 2 funniest was when he was talking smack to Shaq and Shaq bounced the ball between Howard's legs to a team mate, then got the ball back to dunk it. The second was when he was guarding kobe laughing and talking then said "Don't do it kobe!" and Kobe proceeded to hit a 3-pointer over Howard. I also want to get some of those bandages Dwayne Wade was wearing under his eye, those are pretty neat. In the end, the west won with Kobe & Shaq getting co-mvp for the all star game.
